Stupid Girls
Every once in a while a music video catches my attention. This is one of those videos. Stupid Girls by Pink.
I attest, living in LaLa Land sometimes feels like I'm living in the center ring of a three ring circus. It's beautiful and bizarre. And for the impressionable, it's a dangerous place to live. Your sense of self-worth has to be strong in order to overcome the constant bombardment of media-induced perfection. Perfectly manicured lawns and people. Well tailored suits and personalities. Sound great? Not always.
It's beautiful to look at. Impossible to stop staring. And I think we all, in some form, harbor desires to be beautiful, to be perfect, not realizing we already are.
I was talking to my little sister some time back (I think I have part of a video I can post later), but what we sometimes miss is that the most beautiful things in life are imperfect... perfectly imperfect. They are the things that make us want more, that make us write poetry, that make us laugh and scream and cry.
What's life if it's perfect? Not possible to live.
